I was gonna......I made the tape...but was too heavy.
Believe it or not, I gave 3 FALs away a while ago,...along with many other firearms.
Well, hope you planted a good seed.
I think so.
Good deal.
Lot of good men wielded a FAL. The history alone of such a weapon is enough to cause a person to admire the physical form. Maybe even take a couple steps back.

One of my riding "companions", 458 SOCOM. For when a 5.56/223 just isn't enough! In for some cleaning, and caressing, this morning after a range session a while back.
Mines a floorboard heater. Lives with the snap top tool box under the back seat with four ASC 20 rounders full of 77 TMKs in the door pocket. Gets called into service about once a week or so for roadside pork emergency duty or the occasional coyote. Keep this fella between the seat and console for more immediate use, cup holder always has a couple speed strips in it.

The po-po gonna start pulling people over in clarksville for aimless driving around.
Starbucks is not an essential destination.
People gotta think on their feet. " going to rural king officer to get some califlower seeds for the farm" "Going to the co op officer to get some dewormer for my cattle" " Going to the proctologist officer to get the pylops scoped in my bowels"
Not schitt like. " Im going to see granny at restwell nursing home" " going to a clandestine bible study group, 37 of us are gonna be their"
I would share but mine met with a tragic boating accident some time back.
Canoe?
😬😎
Beaver10; Top of the morning to you sir, I hope that other than it being chilly and our world has turned upside down that this finds you and yours as well as can be.
Funny you should mention canoe incidents as they're quite common up here across the medicine line as of late.
As you may or may not know, the old Hudson's Bay Fur Brigade trail went down through our Okanagan Valley on the spring run down to Fort Vancouver on the Columbia.
Although I was in a canoe made of modern materials, in a recent reenactment I myself capsized the canoe and lost all our personal firearms. Of course the firearms were there only to add an air of authenticity to the reenactment and for no other purpose.
As well, I should add that the bundle of furs lost in the same incident were not real fur as that would be cruel....
Anyways, this Canuck is more than a wee bit green with envy for my friends south of the medicine line who are able to freely purchase and shoot AR variants. It's one of the many restrictions put upon us subjects of Mr. Dressup's Imperial Fleet - er I mean Federal Government...
All the best to you my cyber friend and stay well.

Was up late last night reading your thread, had to go to the post office this morning and intercept some kind of damn fed-ex-smart post handoff deal and didn't want to wait for my package til 5pm tonight, getting out of the truck I laughed and thought about this thread.
Threw the package on the hood, pulled some "wallet protector/crackhead reforming tools" from my belt and pockets and took a pic for my old Buddy Beav!

As of now folks in Nevada can keep a loaded hand gun in their vehicle. I suspect our commie Gov and the bleeder demonrat Legislature will try to put and end to this. Gotta love a pistol.

AC Code May 44 production WW2 Walther 8mm G43 Hitlers " Garand" All 7#,s match No import marks. Stock had been severely molested by previous owner. That is my work to get it semi original appearing and presentable Woulda been about a 2200 rifle if the stock wasnt fugged with. Original front sight hood missing and cleaning rod Bout 1500 1600 value in the pic. Original mag alone worth 275 300 ish.
Ya I stole it for 275....... Aint my job to educate a seller.
The 2 you mention were based off this and the soviet svt 40. As were chezch vz 58,s and several other mil platforms. Vz 58 is the apex of the design JMO. The G43 was based off the SVT intially. SVT is a supreior weapon and the grandfather of the design. G43,s had metalurgy issues in the rear cradle area of the receiver.
275 bucks " didnt work" per previous owner. 2 days of me 100% disassembly and cleaning and assembly got it up and running. Took it out to slumlords. Ran 10 thru it fast as i could squeeze the trigger. Next clip started failure to extract and eject. Had a tiny screw adjustment for extractor tension and retention. Feild stripped it , tiny spring pops outta extractor. Fugg......... We searched for it then had ta roll back to his house get a metal detector to find it. Gawd..... I coulda bought a new spring kit for the entire rifle for around 95 bucks. Between that and the metalurgy issues. Made the decision. Was gonna keep it Take it on a token deer hunt once in awhile. Then thinking about parts to be found if somethng went south.
Traded it for my Arsenal SLR 100H type 3. No regrets..... Rather have a working tool than a collector " my precious type of thing".
Some of you gents know how to put together a fine operating battle gun yourself, or you know what to buy off the shelf, maybe making some part changes to improve your AR’s performance and reliability.
I have no such experience on how to build one out, or what aftermarket parts to add.
Here’s my question...I bought 3 Sig M400’s years ago. Two carbines and one shorty....
I went with the Sig M400 because at the time they had pretty good reviews on functionality and above average accuracy. They are pretty accurate and haven’t caused me any repeative malfunctions...Which is good.
With that said...If I wanted to buy a turn-key AR shorty in 5.56 is there a couple manufactures and models you would suggest that make an all around, solid, weapon?
If my Sigs are good to go, I’m happy to keep them....But, if they’ye Junk, my feelings won’t be hurt if there’s a lot better turn-key options available today.

Laugh! I guess I could pitch one or two of 130lb male RockWelders up in the truck, I have four of those alligator headed things here, and no fear Beav, I sleep on a flowerdy bed too. I have one room in the house, the rest are hers to do with as she wants ; ]

I see these come up for sale from time to time...one day I'll have a moment of weakness and bite .
Believe it or not, I gave 3 FALs away a while ago,...along with many other firearms.
I believe you.
I gave all my guns to Goodwill. Heard some old Boomer bought 'em all.
No,...I'm serious. Firearms are something that I've played with. For a while it was FALs, then something else,..then something else.
My safe was full of firearms that I had played with until I was done with them. So I passed a lot of them along.
I didn't disarm myself, however. A particularly reliable Kel-Tec SU-16 resides beside the bed and there's a lightweight AR stuck in a closet somewhere around here.
For recreational shooting, I've come full circle. I've been having a lot of fun playing with a bargain priced semi auto .22 rifle and I've got a hankering for a Henry .22 magnum pump rifle. The next time I find one when I'm knocking around the gun shops it'll probably come home with me.
To show you how boring I am,..a very nice old 4" Ruger Police Service Six stays close most of the time. I've got some more hi-tech handguns. But double action revolvers have been one of my things for a long time. They fit my hand and they hit where they seem like they should.

They aint junk. Drop a 3pd velocity single stage curved shoe in em. Or go full blown and do a elftmann. Put on a VG6 gamma 5.56 comp brake Gun will run like a horizontal sewing machine needle then. Will have ta rezero.
This will be aquired soon. Go put 30 or 40 on it again today or tommorow. Blue jean back pocket carry. Good enough ta stick in a Mooks face...
We can start a campfire gofundme page for you.. So you can pick it up sooner..
Lol!!! Thats not the one I'm getting. Mine is in much better condition That pic is off the web. I'm good.... Gonna get the aftermarket grip made by FAB defense for em with the thumb mag release and slight grip extension under the slide. Of course keep the red bakelite grip. Get an extra mag maybe 2. It will be GTG. Something to go along with my commie type 3.
You ever run across the Iraqi Tariq/ berreta clones???? Some decent qual Some, I swear ta god were made with a large hand file set.

My opinion on ARs these days is, "parts is parts".
You can buy one with the particular features you want,..but the bones of one is going to be as good as the bones of another.
I bought a Bushmaster QRC a while ago just because it had the very light barrel and no sight on the front gas block. (scope is a given for me these days) It tips the scales at a tad under 6 lbs and is bare bones and bargain priced.
It's exactly what I wanted in an AR,..basic and very light.

Uber badness....👍🏻😎
I need to go get a suppressor ie tax stamp. only reason I went 7.5 per deflave instructions
Gots a pipe wrench, very long screw driver & a hatchet.
Lame, but loaded, just the same !
we're suggested to use the 6' distance guideline..........
one of these is a better choice.......
As you guys are aware, we don't have that option !
So, as bandit closes, to exactly 6'11", throw that heavy pipe wrench for effect n keep the stabber & hacker in case the fugger doesn't go down, or GTF outta my space !!

Definitely want one for the 22 LR’s. The other can would be on a AR pistol in 5.56.
I’ve dragged my boots long enough...Time to do it.

That’s excellent news Brother Remsen! My bride has grown tired of hearing me, and our dog Boot performing our victory dance after I whack a coon in our yard.
A silent kill would allow me and the dog the freedom to celebrate without persecution by our unappreciative critic, who obviously hates the performing arts.

Never owned an AR. Never had much desire to. I do have 10-15 M16/AR15 30 round Magazines that I completely forgot to turn back into supply when I left the service though...
That said, this shotgun pretty much goes anywhere my pickup does, riding.....uh.....shotgun, and a Ruger LCP .38 Special +P is always in the console.

T Inman; Good evening to you sir, I hope that all things considered that this finds you doing well.
Now in a sea of AR's with the occasional FNFAL and AK thrown in, none of which we Canucks can carry about freely, I finally see a post with something that'd be considered acceptable on this side of the medicine line.
Perhaps I can bestow honorary Canuck status on you for your post, eh?

18in Green mtn barrel chambered in 223 Wylde, psa lower with psa lower build kit, with A2 stock, 1-4 swfa. Rifle I use for service rifle. Pretty damn good out to 600yds with 77gr Sierra tmk loaded to mag length.
My other one with a 10x swfa, 18 inch 223 Wylde psa upper and lower, lbt trigger, it now has an A2 stock on it as well. I use this for midrange prone shoots out to 600yds. Shoots 77gr Sierra OTM and 75gr hornady OTM pretty good can hold MOA is I do my part.
I need to educate myself on suppressors...It’s time to put a couple in jail.
Definitely want one for the 22 LR’s. The other can would be on a AR pistol in 5.56.
I’ve dragged my boots long enough...Time to do it.

This ain’t no AR, but will spit out 8 rounds of 30-06 right fast. All correct H&R
Yowza!
I like that ping noise when en block clip flies out.
I'll bet you do.
Had a shot at a pristine one right here in the Fire Classifieds a few years ago that was priced a couple bucks over what market was then. You can't touch one in that condtion for that price now.

Paid 600.00 for it about 8 years ago. Got it from a guy here at work. When I found out what it was really worth. I gave him another 200.00. It was the guy’s father’s. It was still a good deal at 800.00.
Yes they are. I shoot 80.5 Berger’s out of them, loaded long so single shot. I want to get some 85 nosler rdf they claim (nosler) you can shoot them from mag length. Berger claimed the same thing with the 80.5 full bore but I didn’t have much luck. But those 77 Sierra’s tmk’s at mag length shoot great.

Varmint rifle, 2 or 4 legged Shoots fine, but is 1 in 9 and all I run is 55gr ball or V max
Less is sometimes more.
kwg
Just a DPMS bbl (chrome lined) on a Stag upper w Anderson lower. JP spring kit and set screw to get trigger decent. Reg cheap furniture (like smaller OD handguard) and a Magpul grip. Kinda heavy, but comfy. Shot recovery is good.
Does around .75" for 5 at 100 benched (when I slapped a 2-7X on it).
Had a Bushmaster during the ban, same 11.5/5.5 bbl but w fixed carry handle. Had a junk 4X on top, stock trigger and it did 1". Slapped together a non chrome lined 1 in 9 full 16" on Stag upper/lower and it did .75" (2-7X and trigger job).
I find 1 in 9 usable and accurate, good enough for chucks or yotes out to 200. Which is what a non bipod rig would be used for.
Buds have heavy bbl $$$ ARs and go PD blasting. They are not walking rifles.
Some say oh AR crap not good for anything. But when set one up for mid range shooting at shoot somewhat high bc 77grs bullets to 600yds makes one realize how good an AR is.
11.5" ar pistol with a can and a 22/45 with a can in case there's a need for real silence.
Very nice combo, Remsen. Did you have a pinned and welded muzzle device prior on the 11.5"?
I would like to set my 11.5" BCM up for a can, but don't want to trip any legal switches.
Nope, it was a fresh build with a stripped lower and upper pistol kit from PSA. Started life as a pistol and continues to be a pistol. The combo of an 11.5" barrel and the can is really a good setup for me. It has plenty of usable range while being pretty dang quiet and very portable.

My Joo buddy's 1970's East German AK kit build with Polish barrel. Blued, not cerakote. Very few of these around and quite collectable. Most of these went to Hamas and the Iranians.
Gunsmith friend of ours who does great builds put it together for him.

Back in the 1980s I was young and a bit reckless/stupid and got into it with Chinese and Mexican gangs in the SF area, so my first guns were geared towards that. It's a crappy picture but the only one that still exists of my old AK and Tec 9 together... Joe Boys got quite a surprise when they thought white boys didn't pack.
I still have the AK but the Tec 9 ended up getting tossed into the Pacific Ocean around the old Sutro Baths...

Now this is getting interesting...If those saltwater irons could only talk....Grins. 😎
The top rifle was a totally ghetto'd out 10/22, the AK is a Norinco, then a GP 100 .357 and the Tec 9. The dang Tec 9 was a terrible weapon if you were trying to hit something intentionally, but it really did make an impression on anyone who was on the wrong side of it.

renegade, not sure if he's looked for the East German lower grip. He had been trying to buy this kit off a friend for a while. The friend had it for 15 years and never put it together. My bud got it and had Bernie put it together last week. Lol.

Yeah. And it reloads faster. You don't have to take the old mag out. All you do is pop in a new en bloc clip of 8. And a 30-06 hits a lot harder than any 5.56mm. In terms of foot pounds per minute on target, the M1 Garand beats the AR15 every time.

I never knew, he seems so nice............Bud hollered WELL DUUUHH! to his wife as she walked away muttering dear god over and over again. he sells insurance, she's a teacher LOL!

What ta hells amatter with folk? ; ]
Gunner, the fact that she's a school teacher will tell you everything. They've been brainwashed while learning to be a teacher. Several years ago when my son was still single, he lived in a bachelor pad with two other guys. Another good friend of his has a girl friend that's a school teacher. One night they had a party and his buddy was there with his girl friend. They were standing around in the kitchen talking about guns, shooting and hunting. This guy's girl friend was was very drunk and listening to the conversation. All of a sudden, she comes unglued and started yelling and screaming at these guys and was calling them terrorists, murderers, psychopaths. Her head was exploding. They had to ask them to leave.
Remember, these are the people who are indoctrinating the next generation of children of this country.

Holy Shît....That’s almost as bad as a pards wife seeing you out with another women and wants to blow you up by telling your wife..
My takeaway from this is where you bud tells his wife you’ve been to dinner at their house many times packing an arsenal of death and she was totally unaware...Fûck’n Love It!
Haven't yet felt compelled to stick it in the front seat, but here's my Sig AR pistol.
The outdated quad rails tell you I've had it for a while.
Sadly, no one makes a modern style M-Lok rail system for this gun. That's the problem with proprietary ARs from Sig.
TRH,
Your Sig been running flawless? Mine haven’t had many hiccups. I’ve been pretty happy with them considering they are 100% out of the box with zero additives.
Palmetto 10.5" kit with SBA4 buttplate, Geislee SSA-E trigger, 3.5X ACOG green horseshoe reticle. I like the firmness and extra inch length of the SBA4 over the SBA3. I did prefer the sling mount on the SBA3 though. It has some cone flash hider, that is primarily designed to direct noise forward. Still pretty barky. Super reliable a pretty accurate with match ammo. I still like it, and really can't think of any improvements. Very efficient "pistol".

Luckily I had my trusty back-up warming my passenger seat, zombies beware..... Behold the mighty H&R in .410 with a Toreazz 38 for stuffin in my trousers...

His wife asked, has he ever been in our house? bud said yes, several times and was probably wearing all but that rifle having dinner with us and the kids, OH DEAR GOD!!!
You bet and good god Stone, more proof liberals are indeed psychotic delusional mentally ill oxygen thieves, glad they showed the whore the door, hope your sons bud got shed of that thot asap.

Sorry Gunner, you’ve been outed. 😂😎
LOL, yes, bud told her you've never been safer in your mamas arms as when that big crazy sombitch is around, is he ever coming back? she ask....................he just shook his head, I was LMAO on the phone as he told the story ; ]
Just don’t have the knowledge yet to buy a good one...Too many are junk.

I totally forgot about the AK I have on the ranch in Alabama...same AK I used to have for Chinese gang control, it now leads a quiet life of popping beavers and predators (and, perhaps, a Qatari or two if they come looking for me).
Been a tremendous amount of hatred toward Beaver’s the last few days.
Now, has it turned to murder? One can form a belief that harsh words, then physical interactions is a gateway towards killing a perfectly good beaver.
Let’s together, step the fûck back and let a beaver thrive?
Thank you! JFC 😬😎
Sorry for being insensitive, Brother Beav. We have a pond and while it usually is home to just catfish and bass (and cows getting a drink), it is pretty popular with the local tree chewers. Like this (the dude is my brother's son in law, a marine who wouldn't touch the rodent without wearing a glove, something that we still give him chit about).
I'm still shocked that there are beavers in Alabama.

I thought the only reason anyone went to ‘Bama was for the beaver.

The wood came like that, all i did was fit it to the receiver. Pretty sure it's WBP Polish surplus set, was brand new when it arrived.
My Wasr-10 looks exactly like it, but the wood ain't near as purdy. You just may motivate me to sand mine down and finish them. And no, they won't be Russian Red.
Have a few Russian Bakelites, too. But, those things have gotten stupid pricey.
Got a lot more Bulgarian, Belgian, Polish, Romanian, Hungarian that work just fine.
