Trump Just Might Turn 'The Woman From Michigan' Into Biden's Running Mate

President Trump has single-handedly thrust a mostly unknown politician into the spotlight — and she might just wind up being Joseph R. Biden’s running mate, bashing him relentlessly until Nov. 3.

And boom. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, a Democrat, hits the big time.

How big? On March 5, her odds of being selected by Biden as his running mate were 33/1. By March 20, she’d risen to 16/1. On Tuesday, she was a 10/1 shot.

Trump has continued to put Whitmer front and center in the race to join Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, on the ticket.

And the president is keeping up the heat. He later referred to her as “Gretchen ‘Half’ Whitmer” in a tweet and said she is “way in over her head,” “doesn’t have a clue” and “likes blaming everyone for her own ineptitude!”

But Trump is playing with fire.

Whitmer, 48, is barely known even within circles of political pundits and pollsters, but she’s seen by top power brokers as a rising star in the Democratic Party. A lawyer whose father was the president of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and whose mother was an assistant state attorney general, she’s real.

In 2016, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton lost Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, which voted for former President Barack Obama twice, and Biden will need to flip them back to the Democratic side to win in November.

But Whitmer’s addition to the ticket might just put Michigan, a state whose governorship she won by nearly 10 percentage points in 2018, into the D column.

While many have never heard of her, she was selected to give the official Democratic response to Trump’s 2020 State of the Union address, considered a big honor.

Trump is getting weary -- snapped at John Roberts of Fox News just like he worked for CNN. McCain tried Sarah Palin so, who knows. Might "work" and we need divine guidance no matter what has gone on by November. Has anyone tried unplugging 2020 for ten minutes and plugging it back in? Phew!

Whitner would be easy. The scary one is michelle Obama. Biden will not get the nomination if the Democrats have half a brain. Trump would eat him alive.

They will draft Cuoma if he survives the virus unscathed.

Let me put it to you like this. Michigan didn't vote for half-whit, they voted against a Republican. Any warm body that the demo-cr@ps put up would have won along with the legalization of recreational weed. The Snyder snafu on the flint water crisis and a weak Schuette doomed the Republicans.

She better have more than what I saw in her response to the SOTU. Watching paint dry would have been more interesting.

#3. He will make a big deal about not letting the Party running his campaign.

Biden is still running? Haven't seen his mug on TV for over a month now. Thought maybe the Dems had decided to just throw in the towel.

His handlers have him lying low so as to avoid gaffes (only way to do that is stay off tv) while COVID19 plays out.

Biden will be the nominee and pick Cuomo as his running mate. In September or October, Biden will step down due to health and mental issues and Cuomo will be the nominee and lose to Trump.

If not for the fact that his handlers have him on a short leash to avoid further gaffs, Biden could be out and about right now sniffing out potential female VP candidates.

What needs to happen is that any government official who runs for another office first has to step down from their current position before they can run for election, and also would no longer be eligible to be elected for the former position. That would weed out much of the BS. They are a paid employee, and over half of their damn election year, we are paying them to campaign for another spot.
