The moon was at its closest distance to us yesterday, which is why it looks larger than usual at the full (precisely 10:35 pm Eastern) tonight. If skies are clear, you can still see the planetary trio of Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter in the southeast an hour before sunrise. That's Venus in the southwest at sunset, looking smaller than usual as it wanes to a crescent in the coming weeks.
Jaguartx: Apparently the full moon in April is also called "the Pink Moon".
List of interest to follow:
Wolf Moon – January Snow Moon – February Worm Moon – March Pink Moon – April Flower Moon – May Strawberry Moon – June Buck Moon – July Sturgeon Moon – August Harvest Moon – September or October Full Corn Moon (Harvest) – September Hunter's Moon (Harvest) – October Beaver Moon – November Cold Moon – December
I'll be watching - I do know it was real bright here last night. Everyone (especially Jim Conrad) ENJOY! Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
