7x57 or the Springfield.
Posted By: Quak Re: Spring Fever - 04/08/20
Brno or the Springfield...no question

You retired yet? smile
Posted By: DouginAlaska Re: Spring Fever - 04/08/20
Just grab the Cooper Model 52 and go for it!
Posted By: smokepole Re: Spring Fever - 04/08/20
I feel your pain. How are you liking the 28 Nozler?
Posted By: kaboku68 Re: Spring Fever - 04/08/20
Its extremely accurate. But last year, I actually shot a cow moose (DM788) from inside my living room door on my archery range at 22 yards. It was a perfect heart shot that also got her liver and she piled up 10 yards from where I shot her. I do not like remote learning teaching but I feel that I need to teach at least two more years.

I’ll take candidate 1 behind door number 4 for goat; please and thank you Jack!

Sheep?

I'd take the 30-06...

grin
Posted By: hanco Re: Spring Fever - 04/08/20
I’d take a Sako

Fine bunch of rifles
Posted By: kaboku68 Re: Spring Fever - 04/08/20
I only have one Sako and its 222 so probably not the best for goats and moose. Vixen with Zeiss 6X Dytel

I was thinking that maybe I should go old school with Winchester 1895s or an old Model 1893 Marlin 30-30.
Marlin 1893 30-30

Winchester 1895 30-03

Winchester 1895 30-40. It has been bubbaized from a Musketeer.

I probably should go with 338s.

Nosler 48 TGR 338 Winchester Mag with VX6

Kimber of Oregon, Clackmas 338 Win Mag in SuperAmerica but would have to find a scope for it.

Yeah, I'm about to get a chitload of it as soon as the grass dries! I hate yard mowing, that's not even a real tractor.

Gunner500. I am sorry. I think Hanco is as bored as I am. Normally I am teaching all day. Now I only work with my students about 1 hour per day.

8 Rem Mag BDL
270 Win ADL
600 in 243 Win
600 in 350 Rem Mag
678 Guide Rifle in 350 Rem Mag
7 Rem Mag 700 ADL
660 in 308 Win

LOL, I've been loading and shooting my new 6,5 Swede build, and put near 300 rounds through a Colt LW Commander 38 Super yesterday, but, today is mowing day.

I see you're having fun too!
Posted By: Vek Re: Spring Fever - 04/08/20
Which one will you take to Andersen / Tittmann?
Posted By: kaboku68 Re: Spring Fever - 04/08/20
Probably the FC it only weighs 6lbs full up.
Posted By: kaboku68 Re: Spring Fever - 04/08/20
6.5s are great.

Right is a Nosler TGR in 26 Nosler - shot a goat with it. Great rifle and very accurate but the round rips the crap out of the meat.

Left is a 1925 Mexican Mauser in 6.5 X 55 Swede made by Jay Frazier with a Kahles scope. My wife made the sling when we forgot ours.

I don't have very many savages. I need to find a good EG in 250-3000. But here is a Savage 99 R in 300 Savage and a Savage 99 in 308. There are also two Stevens Favorites. One is old and one is more recent manufacture.

Yessir, speaking of 6.5's, I'm going to move my bench back 200 yards and have at some 900 yard steel in the morning with my Swede, the little 147gr ELD is still packing 1859 fps here at 555 ft. elevation. smile

I have faith in the little rifle.
