Instead of pole barn for garage/workshop. Anyone went this route?
These little carport places are springing up everywhere around me. They offer shops made any size you want with the same construction. Thought it might be a decent option to save some bucks as well as speed things along.
I've got a 24 X 40 footer with 12 foot walls that's been in place for almost 20 years. I put metal siding on it myself after a crew of wetbacks assembled the basic building. No real problems down here in Tennessee- - - - -what about snow loading up there in yankee land?

Down here you see a few of them.

No snow.

The ones down here, the tin roof runs long ways. Length of building. Instead of top to bottom.
If you got snow, may cause it to pile up.
I’m in SW corner of Ohio. Minimal snow...winds can be quite stout around here though. The carports I see seem to last a long time...thinking of a 40’X60’ or a little smaller on a concrete pad.
Part of my motivation is cost savings over a pole barn. The other motivation is we have clay here with a high water table. Concerned about the long term problems with rotten posts of a pole barn. The new Pressure treatment is garbage.

You can order them with a peaked roof, they're customizable. I've bought two carports; one 12x20 another 25x40. I love em. No snow problems here but keeps the rain and sun damage at bay.

We had a recent thread within the last 30 days, same question.

It got lots of replies.

Might try digging it up.

I’ve got 4 of these bldgs,

They can put them usually in a few hours (carport size)

I have been thinking about getting one, 12x20, for backing the jet boat into. A few shallow holes, and a few bags of crete mix for footings to anchor it to. One closed end on the West end. It would keep the sun off the boat and all the fishing gear left inside.
