I was just reading about Fort Sill. Named after a Civil general.

Thinking what is named after folks. Me, not even a dog.

One of my first "projects" in the refinery I started my career at was close to a fail if it were not for the maintenance guys helping me sort it. There is a plaque there with my name on it and some other words...

I was at a business meeting 6 years ago and a guy walked up to me and asked if I remembered my 6th grade teacher. I said I certainly did - Mr Nichols - and he was a great teacher. Then the guy said that his first name was the same as mine and that his Dad had named him after me.
Everything given a name after the first couple days of ‘49 was named after me.

If things continue to go as they have been going, there will probably be legal doctrine named after me this year. There's a case in Texas, known as "Boeing", that my organization is challenging (in short, we are asking for documents under the public records act that show how foreign nations are funding Texas A&M and the foreign nation in this situation is arguing that under Boeing, their information should be considered a trade secret). The trial court already ruled that Boeing doesn't say what both Ken Paxton and the foreign nation say it says and we're about to go to the Texas Supreme Court.

So unless the Supreme Court overrules the trial court, Boeing will be replaced by Remsen. Means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.
I had a 4 wheeler roll back on me and flip on a steep hill, and I nearly got murdered by an ATV. From that time on, the hill was named after me by the owner of the land. I hate that hill.

One grandson, and 4 other sons of friends different friends. So there are 5 Steven's out there named after me.

Son and grandson...
Not me but my maternal Grandfather has some first in the nation state facilities he got built in the late 60 named after him.
Not after me, but in my home tome of Belleville, Illinois there is a Raab Avenue and a Henry Raab school (or were - I haven't been back in decades.) I have no idea why and I can't remember ever seeing that street or school, oddly enough.

I facetiously say that here in the west, there's a whole mountain range named after me...LOL!

I worked 10 years at a ski area. Used to ski a out-of- bounds run, but the area expanded into that area and now that run is named after me. " Kurt's Corner"

My grandkids call me Frank, but that's not what the OP asked.

Nothing special to report here.

My grandson has my first name as his middle name. The part that honored me was it being my D.I.L. that insisted.

Son and grandson and I have the same middle name
Only if it / they are unfortunate !

My boy is named after me. There is also a road the carries the family name, I wasn't the intended recipient.

I will name my next dog Wabbi though.
Yes, a lightning strike wildfire in SE Oregon circa 1998 was officially named the Norman Fire, my middle name I go by in some circles. I reported it, complete with map coordinates, after watching the lightning strike from a distant location up on a ridge. The fire guys bitched that I didn't wait for it to spread more so they'd have something to do, rather it just burned the struck juniper tree and a few square yards.

There's a town just east of Denver that was named after my Great Great Grandfather who homesteaded there.
