More anti gun legislation from our enemies in Congress.

Shown Here:
Introduced in House (01/30/2020)

Gun Violence Prevention and Community Safety Act of 2020

This bill makes various changes to the federal framework governing the sale, transfer, and possession of firearms and ammunition. Among other things, the bill does the following:

generally requires individuals to obtain a license to purchase, acquire, or possess a firearm or ammunition;
raises the minimum age—from 18 years to 21 years—to purchase firearms and ammunition;
establishes new background check requirements for firearm transfers between private parties;
requires law enforcement agencies to be notified following a firearms-related background check that results in a denial;
creates a statutory process for a family or household member to petition a court for an extreme risk protection order to remove firearms from an individual who poses a risk of committing violence;
restricts the import, sale, manufacture, transfer, or possession of semiautomatic assault weapons and large capacity ammunition feeding devices;
restricts the manufacture, sale, transfer, purchase, or receipt of ghost guns (i.e., guns without serial numbers);
makes trafficking in firearms a stand-alone criminal offense;
requires federally licensed gun dealers to submit and annually certify compliance with a security plan to detect and deter firearm theft;
removes limitations on the civil liability of gun manufacturers;
allows the Consumer Product Safety Commission to issue safety standards for firearms and firearm components;
establishes a community violence intervention grant program; and
promotes research on firearms safety and gun violence prevention.

This alone is a reason to be terrified of losing in November.

Hell... Why not?

The Supreme Court just sent a message to clear the way...

The democrats are concentrating on keeping the house and wining the senate. With both senate and house they will not care who is president. Besides they can impeach with control in both houses. Do not let the democrats sucker you. The democrat anti-American/socialist/communist policies, rules, regulations, and taxes will destroy America forever if we do not vote the democrats out of power in the 2020 election. They should be removed from office and off all the ballots for they offer nothing for America or the people to help make the country better. They need to be removed from the federal level down through the local levels. If they are not stopped they destroy America and enslave most of the people.

Here's some salient points:

Quote
This proposed bill immediately states all future gun owners will have to obtain a Federal license. This is in addition to any state license you may already have.

It gets better. You will have to be licensed for both firearms and ammunition. That’s right, any ammunition you would like to purchase, you must be federally licensed. Plus, there will be a mandatory 7 business day wait period.

That’s just the first couple of paragraphs. As we continue to peruse the jargon, we are quickly led to the section clearly titled “Assault weapons and firearms silencers and mufflers ban.” This is where it gets really interesting.

For starters, all AKs and ARs- gone. They will only be authorized very limited manufacturing and they will essentially not be allowed for public purchase. This also includes any caliber of magazine that holds more than 10 rounds. Except, of course, .22 caliber ammunition. (Those tiny little guys can’t do any harm, right?)

After this bill is enacted, the aforementioned products will also have to have a date stamped onto them. This is to ensure the validity of the legal purchase. Something else we found in the bill- very long lists of the brands and types of AKs, ARs, etc. that will be illegal if this bill passes Congress.

We wished it abruptly ended there, however, it did not. We also read that places of business will have stricter regulations for sales and purchases of firearms. All firearms and ammunition will have to be kept in secure metal cabinets, behind several locks and other methods of ‘safety.’

This includes the methods of which guns are kept in the home as well. They will have to be fully secured at all times, and everyone legal in the home will have to have a license. Each firearm will also have to have locks, at least that’s how we read it.

Something peculiar also caught our eye regarding gun shop sales, leases, and rentals. They will have to submit a report to the ATF every 5 days. That report will have to include your name, residence, occupation and gender. (No mention of phone or email information, but your gender matters when purchasing a pistol or rifle ammo.)

As we were finally getting to the end of the bill, we saw a part about weapons taxes. This bill is proposing 30% taxation on all firearm sales and 50% taxation on all ammunition sales. These taxes will be used to “research gun violence and prevention.”

They will sit on this until November, and if they take the senate, it'll get a vote the next day.

That's about the time for you and Elwood to pack up the blues mobile and move to Mexico where there'll be a little more freedom.

Have you heard of H.R. 6666?

This is all part of that "fundamental change" Obama was preaching about and all the liberals were crying for.

Guys,

When 5717 was first introduced, I spread the word to owners and couldn't get so much as a raised eyebrow or a head shake. It seemed like eyes glazed over apathy beyond belief. Any responses from your local people?

I haven't checked lately, having developed an aversion to the NRA. Does anyone know if they are doing anything about this bill other than appealing for $?

I plan on talking to the local county Republican Party chapter. They have all those pre-election fliers they hand out with recommendations on voting issues. Make sure your's makes a deliberate point to raise awareness through their fliers and phone calls to constituents.

Sounds like a good idea.
The Republican party would be the first choice, but I was thinking that the libertarians and Constitution parties would be on the same page too. I think I'll get a packet together to share with the officers of each.
