I need a New Generator for deer camp.

I would like to have at least 5000 watts, run on propane and be relatively Quiet.

Lots of them out there, but many don;t list the noise level.

Any suggestions.

The inverter type generators are the best and quietest out there but don't overlook altering the exhaust on any generator to quieten it down a little too. A simple insulated box type of cover can also help if you leave enough ventilation and can build one that don't catch fire, the noise can be made directional with the right enclosure.

You'll get plenty of responses on which one to by, just cut to the short of it and go Honda.

Not sure, we ran a Honda 3000 watt quiet series(gas) for 10 years in our deer camp problem free.Goggle Genconnex I believe they make a propane conversation for Hondas.

Any Honda and one can convert most generators to duel fuel .......and if you need a generator in hunting camp , you're doing it wrong! laugh

I bought a Cummins Onan P9500DF - 7500 Watt Electric Start Dual Fuel Portable Generator a couple weeks ago.
Plan on running on propane only.

It's not nuclear bomb loud, but you wont talk to anybody within a 100 yards of it.

BTW, Lance makes such things available in some of their truck campers. Don't know about their trailers. Mine's from the mid 90's and it has always had one. E

Westinghouse and Onan both have a 4500 watt inverter generator..Very quiet and runs for about 16-18 hours on a tank of gas..Not propane though but can be bought for less than or equal to a honda 2k.

Steve4102, 5000, is a lot of watts.....you can run 2 RV ac’s on that! Also, propane, while convenient.....is quite inefficient! You will use about 2x the volume of propane vs gasoline, to do the same job. We had an Onan 6500 , which when being used to “only” recharge the camper batteries used a full 40# bottle of propane in less than 11 hours run time. The generator was barely loaded, if loaded heavy.....the run-time was exponentially less! But,,it was quiet......especially when it was out of fuel! grin memtb

I have loud piece of junk. I’m gonna get a quiet Honda by next fall.
It’s not 5000W but the champion 3400 dual fuel is an inverter, quiet, and set up for propane or gas.

Anything over 60 dB is a no go for me in a generator.
