Nesting in a box in our back 40, so she headed down and put up the popup blind last night. Held it down for about 3 hours this morning. Sort of a rarity around here and not as brilliantly colored as the Mountain version which we get more often. Not feeding any youngsters yet, so there were no comings and goings for the female. We were down near freezing the last couple of days with some periodic snow squalls, so hoping the eggs were kept up to temp.

My day involed splitting a stacking most of next winter's wood and tuning up the saws for a final forest run tomorrow. Still about 15% short on filling the wood shed, so with tomorrow's trip and a couple more hours of splitting we should be good for next fall/winter.

Have a good one.
Nice pic! A buddy in SE New Mexico at 7,000 feet gets both mountain and western bluebirds nesting in his houses every year, sometimes a given nest box alternates between species. Not sure how the birds figure that out, no cross-species pairings tho.
I love my bluebirds! I’ve got a trail of nest box I take care of.
Always great pics! Thanks.
Wierd i cant see the pic.

Way cool we get them at our feeders also.
Beautiful!! That is a fantastic photograph!!!
Always good photos 1minute. Miss the bluebirds and especially the Meadowlarks.
