KY State Fair is on with some modifications. Our local Pendleton County Youth fair just got approved, with some changes as well. Grandson is a senior (graduated) this year. Glad he will get one more round of showing before he starts college. He won Overall Swine Showmanship at KY State Fair last year. So, no more showmanship. He has a couple good looking home bred, home grown gilts this year. His gilt placed Reserve Overall Breeding Gilt last year at State. He is looking forward to a chance to improve on that placing this year.
Glad that the KY fairs are back on, even if changes required to make 'em happen. Feel sad for the kids where the fairs have been cancelled.
The country fair which was always the second or third week of August has been cancelled for this year. I've been going since I was a kid, it was the last free admission fair in California and I live just down the road from the fairgrounds and could walk to it avoiding the ridiculous parking fees.
Haven't been to the local fair in a few years. Smack dab in the middle of archery deer season, and the tacos aren't that good anyway and they dropped the rodeo. Instead we get light truck destruction derbys and 8 dollar cups of warm Coors.
According to my calculations slumlord is 120 years old.
