The 9.3x62 ppu ammo 18.5 gram round nose do not feed off the left mag rail. The nose ends up high about 2 o'clock on the barrel face and the rim is not sliding up to capture. Now when I try 338-06 with 200 gr Hornady SST's no problem off the left rail. ? ? Mb

I find PPU ammo to be often to be pushing the limits on tolerances. I can't hardly eject it from my pre 64 Win 70 Fwt in 30-06. I would avoid the PPU. I know I won't ever use it again. I never had any trouble with any factory ammo of any manufacturer besides the PPU.

Clearly you need to adjust your rail(s). The action was designed for the 8x57. The shoulder on the .338-06 is further back, thus it doesn't kick over as far when feeding. The shoulder on the 9,3x62 is further forward, hits the "bottleneck" in the rails sooner than the 8x57, and kicks the bullet nose over further, hitting the ass end of the barrel. You can screw a barrel on easy enough but you should expect to have to give some attention to the feed rails if you expect proper feeding.

But cheer up, the 9,3x62 is easy enough to make work properly.
