I replaced the old Rem trigger on my 722 with another old Rem 700 trigger (both are Walker's). I have just discovered that the 700 safety lever binds against the action. The 700 actions have a slot cut in the receiver for more clearance, the 722 does not. Also the safety levers on the 2 triggers don't interchange so a simple switch is not possible. Does someone make a safety lever for the 700 trigger with a 722 angle & spread? Has anyone ever successfully bent a 700 safety lever to fit?

I’ve bent them and made it work but you need to heat it up to keep from snapping it off. This will leave it with no finish and an odd angle. Best solution is to cut a flat on the tang for clearance of the 700 safety lever. I used to do them in the mill but you can do it with a file. Cold blue after you’re done.

+1 on filing clearance.
An OEM Rem M.Walker trigger group safety lever will have a break away "HOLE" at the bend as not to destroy said lever completely if hit from a fall/mishap etc.

(I've precision TIG welded hundreds over the years)

Aftermarket Rifle Basix safety levers do not have said "HOLE" in the lever.

Machine the notch in the receiver tang to convert a 721/722 receiver to accept a 700 trigger group.

This^^^
Have to file or mill the side of the tang flat to accommodate a M700 trigger and safety lever.
I recently bent a trigger tech to fit. I am considering filing the tang and bending it back. I am a jeweler and have the tools to make the bends. I however dont care for look in the safe position. Just to wide of gap.
