I would like to rent a chambering reamer for a 6.5 x 300 WBY

Already tried 4D rentals and had a very bad experience anyone have good success with anyone else?
Well, I was gonna recommend them. I can't think of any other company of hand. I don't know if Clymer rents or not.
I had a bad experience with Elk Ridge; I think 4-D is pretty much the default rental source these days. If you have to buy you're looking at Manson, Clymer, JGS, and PT&G - I think there's one more but my brain shuts down this late at night.
I’ve mainly used 4D. It’s been good experiences. Sorry to hear of your bad experience.
The problem with 4D there reamer was bad left burrs on the rilfeing I tried to contact them and they would not answer my emails, what a way to do business.
I never had an issue contacting 4D but I always just called. Fred was always friendly and helpful. If you haven’t completely burned that bridge you might call and visit with him and see if you can work something out.

I haven’t used anyone else, sorry.
I have reached out to 4D, now it is there turn to contact me
I think the best thing for me to do is order a new reamer and when I am done with it I will sell here on the campfire

^^^^ That's been my way of thinking for a long time. I've also used them as trade material towars or for the threading/chambering/headspacing work.
Any suggestions where to buy from?
Buy from Dave Manson.
Manson gets my business. Kiff and PT&G are slower than molasses in January.
IME Manson does good work, based on the reamers I've bought from him. He has good turn around time, even for wildcat dies, at least when they already have drawings or chamber specs. Reasonable prices and responsive when called via phone.
for the little bit of price difference i would just buy a new reamer .
When I was building a .257 wildcat based on the .204 Ruger a few years ago, Dave Manson put a rush on the reamer because the man who designed the round was dying of lung cancer. From our initial contact to delivery of the reamer was just under 3 months. The guy got to see pics of the first deer taken with it, about a month before he died. Dave has gotten all my reamer business since then.
......kiff charged me a restocking fee after 4 months of waiting for an "in stock" part, stock part...not custom to be refunded.

Yup....restock fee on a part they said was in stock but didn't even exist yet. Great service out of ptg.
White Rock Tool and Die has moved. Used to be in Kansas City. I called and rented a reamer a few months ago, so the guy still sends them out. The number is 816 454 0478. His rental terms are 30 days -- best by far in the rental business.

I used them on a .20-.223 Ackley and they were fine---other than the wait (they had to have a new reamer made). Otherwise, their service was good.

I'd buy from Dave Manson like suggested. But hang on to it. You'll need it again before long!
