Found out the rear sight on my recently acquired Anschultz was damaged in shipping.

Need info to fill out insurance claim form, have been unable to figure out which model number it is to try and determine value for claim.

Thanks for the help, spent almost an hour online trying to find it with no apparent luck.
Lyman often stamped ID numbers on the underside of the base, might try there if you haven’t yet.

Looks like 60
I can't find anything on it online.

I get other models but nothing for the 60.

Nothing on the base of it either.
Never could find info on it online. Lyman cs got back to me, they don't even have anything more concrete than "its old" and maybe 70-80$ .

So, *shrug*.
Lots of parts are interchangeable. There's a guy that shows up at the Dakotah territory gun shows that would likely have the parts, I can't remember his name, sorry. You might check with parts stores such a Jack First in Rapis City.
I'm putting a scope on it anyway, just a bit annoyed about the sight being damaged.
Looking in Nick Stroebel's Book "Old Gunsights,(1998) the Lyman 60 Extension Receiver Sight was last cataloged in 1974, but introduced in 1959.
The Lyman 60 is listed to be used for several Rifle Receivers, including Winchester,Remington, Savage, Anshutz like you have, and possibly others.
Values Listed back then, and I know from dealing with Collectors over the years, was used as a guide line, and starting point for pricing.
$75.00 Bucks
I don't think you can replace the whole sight for that $$, but if you only need the bent peep screw, and maybe another part you might get lucky.
If it was insured I think I'd try to push for more $$ if possible. Looks like the top bar stock metal that holds the peep is bent and another part that the peep sight screw goes into is missing.
Google Vintage Lyman 60 receiver sight, and you can get a better picture and see what I'm talking about, also click on various pics for additional info and or possibly finding what your looking for.

Like Bugger suggested you'll still be able to find parts as needed as there's guy's who specifically deal in sights at gun shows, and online.

Ebay also lists them,Worthpoint, etsy, I would even go on WACA forum as a guest and ask if anyone has one for sale.

Good Luck, I hope this helps,

it was helpful, thank you.
Good luck, with your part search, and the claim. Hope you're compensated.
I have quite a few old Lyman sights. They are what I look for for my lever rifles. I usually pay north of $100 for them and the last one I bought may have been 10+ years, maybe 20.
If you want to sell the sight as is I might be interested.
I might.
Shipping insurance is going to pay $175 ; which seems reasonable. So, close up this chapter for now.
