Anyone know a good gunsmith/machinist that threads a barrel for screw in chokes.
Thanks
Yes Rose has done several for me. Excellent work.

OP,
Rent the tooling from 4D Reamer rentals & accomplish the simple job yourself.

Just had one done at Briley and could not be happier. got a deal on the job and 3 of their excellent chokes.
Steve is the guy[/quote
Steve did a great job on my 20ga a couple of years ago. Very reasonable, as well.
I have a set of Brownng Citori 28 inch fixed choke vent rib barrels that fit my 525 20ga 32" clays gun, I need to send them to Briley, to get them bored out and cut for screw in chokes. You need to remove the current choke to put in a screw in choke. Briley is the Gold Standard for high end shotgun work. Comes back done right.
Thank you, you reminded me, those barrels are on my barrel rack, bhind another pair of barrels.
A certain one, often named here, from a town in Mass. is NOT the right way to go. I had many done by him and in the beginning they were right, and fast, and reasonable. the LAST batch was SLOW, and Wrong, though essentially reasonable in price. He did not respond in any way for nearly a year. I cannot remember exactly how many I had him do, but I can name the ones he screwed up.
As the old meme says: " Quality, speed, cost, pick two."

Mike is the guy I think you are referring to. Cannot remember his last name.
As the saying goes, no advertising is bad... so I try to not use the name.
