Need suggestions. Older gun, bought used. Worked fine for a while, but now is giving light primer strikes.

Firing pin protrusion is within spec, spring appears strong. Local smith is stumped.

Am I right to assume headspace issues? Tenon wear on the barrel extension, maybe? How would I go about testing headspace?

Try different ammo, my wife had one in 20 ga and it was very picky, it liked Winchester or Federal only. Sold it.

I have, but it’s to the point of failing to fire on almost everything, including reloads.
