I have a P64 375 H&H, Douglas Alaskan profile barrel.

Now I need a stock, I don't mind doing one myself. Was thinking Boyds or maybe a Richards Old Classic or just go Mcmillan?

What say you?

If that was my hunting gun, I'd go McMillan. If it was my range gun, I'd go with a Boyds walnut

As much as I love my hand rubbed oil finished walnut stocks, for working/hunting guns the synthetic stocks win out. They are more durable, don't have to worry about scratches or dents and long range zero isn't affected like wood (even properly sealed wood stocks have some moisture swelling).

If I wanted synthetic I’d go Bansner miller classic now that they are available with a p64 inlet. Nothing McMillan currently inlets comes close - unless you can find a used legend.

On a P64...Richards Old Classic all the way.

They will remove the cheek piece if you desire the straight classic look.

I have two Winchesters that I restocked with McMillans. Couldn’t be more pleased.
