Anybody have one the the auxiliary peeps Redfield used to make that screws to the back of the rear scope base? Or even what the proper name of these neat little sights is? Sure would like to find one for my .250 Sav. project. Thanks --- Mel

Joel,
I was looking at the Talley pop- up also, as far as I can tell they only make it for the Mod. 70 & Montana 1999. Don't know if they could be reworked for a Mauser. Kind of spendy to experiment on. --- Mel

Mel, according to talleysite they make them for all kinds of actions, and they fit the peep to the base (for an extra $70)

http://www.talleyrings.com/scope.php

On the bottom of the page they talk about fitting the peep.

Its still pricy but unless I am reading it wrong, which more than likely I am, it is doable but you will be paying for it. which is why I havent gotten them yet, I dont mind paying for quality but there has to be something out there that is good but still cost effective.

Joel,
I was thinking of the Brockman pop-up peep, mounted on a Talley base, I hadn't seen the actual Talley. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, not as pricey as the Brockman. --- Mel

What kind of rifle do you have? I have two, one for a LH Savage 110 and one for my Pre-64 Model 70s but I want to hang on to them. Actually, it would be very simple to make one. Thanks...Bill.

search redfield folding peep on flea-bay, there are usually one or two. You have to buy the whole base setup and drill/tap your own base for the sight assembly.

I've got a couple of these in my cabinet of bases. They're on one piece bases but I can't remember off hand what they fit, but if you guys still need them I can check them out and let you know what they fit.

Little Blue Peep, was made for Red Jr and Buehler, went between the two windage screws. And as already noted there was a Red Jr base that had a flipup peep at the rear.

Now that I think of it I am looking for one of the Red Jr flipup sight bases for a 1903 Springfield - sooner or later ebay will probably have one.
