So Mr.E4E how feasible is it to convert a .308 Remington 788 in to a 25-284? I guess my biggest concern is the clip. How much altering would have to been done? Hey you don't have any Canjar 788 trigger laying around do you?

My friend has a 788 in 22-250 very accurate, and from what I have read those rifles have a very fast lock time. <P> Hearing that the 6mm -284 might be a factory offering is a real surprise to me. Ross,<P>I believe Lapua is making 6.5-284 brass, or at least it was on there list of new products coming out.

E4E, okay you have convinced me to skip using the 788 for a 25-284. I talked to you on the phone about this particular 788 before. I'm still waiting for it to become officially mine, hence I'm waiting on doing anything to it. It will definitely need some trigger work if not replaced altogether and the stock will need to be replaced as well. As it sits right now it is a .308, but Big Stick sent me a clip for a 7mm08 and I'm seriously thinking about rebarreling it for the 7mm08, which I don't think would be a major undertaking. Keep an eye out for a trigger for me and as soon as this rifle becomes officially mine I will be getting in touch with you.

Didn't you sell of one 7mm-08 already?

Bigmuley, yes I did. Old habits die hard I suppose. I'd like to try another one but this time I would experiment more with handloading. I think there is more potential for the round than I got out of it.
