Have a .375 Ruger that requires action screws to be tightened after every 15 or so rounds.
It is it okay/desirable to use Loctite on those screws? If so, what strength- blue, red, or what?

How many in-lbs are you applying when torquing the screws?
Do not use Thread-Locker! Some guys use thread locker on scope base screws then want us to break our driver bits trying to get them out.
I use clear nail polish on scope base screws and action screws when necessary.......it is easy to break it loose.......however, it is not resistant to most gun cleaning solvents.....if I need a more solvent resistant thread locker, I use either green or blue loctite.
Shouldn't be much of a problem removing scope base screws if the PROPER thread locker is used......if it doesn't want to break free, use a soldering iron to apply heat to the fastener........
Of course, there are folks who will use red loctite and then can't understand why they can't remove the fastener!!
I hate it when people use nail polish on scope screws..
Use Blue locktite... It's all you'll need...
if your action screws are backing out every 15 rounds.....adress the real issue. it sounds like some hanky bedding.

So, what's wrong with using nail polish??
Nail polish is for girls......
