I had a Left Hand 700 in 22-250 Ack and decided it was to heavy to fool with , so decide to change it to 222 Remington. I traded the 308 Bolt to one of the forum members for his 223 bolt. The barrel on the 22-250 was a Number 7 McMillan 27 inch's long . I cut 2.5 inch off the rear of the barrel which got rid of 22-250 Ack chamber . I lapped the new bolt into the action, then cut a new tenon then threaded and chambered for the 222 Remington. After polishing the barrel i cut the barrel to 22 inch's and crowned with a recessed target crown. I skimmed bedded the action in the HS Precision Police Tactical Stock . The trigger is the Shilen 2 oz. I loaded up two different loads to try tomorrow. Here is the finished produce with Leupold 4.5x14 30 mm Tactical Scope. It should Tack Drive. I hope. I switch out the J-Lock firing pin assembly to a Gre-Tan

Very nice, I like it. I bet it'll drive tacks too.
That's a dandy!
I loaded up ten Sierra 53 gr Match HP with IMR 4198 and ten with H322. Lapua Brass and CCI BR-4 Primers . Will try tomorrow.
Nice rifle chambered for a classic cartridge. You won't be disappointed.
My buddy has my 40X BR in 222 and we where shooting it a couple of weeks back and i just had to have another 222 after the shooting session.
My early 40x in 222. 722, single shot.

What twist? I look forward to hearing how it shoots.

Very nice, sir!

Thanks for sharing!

Nice looking rig!

Did you have any issues with feed rails, or magazine follower going down to the 222 case?
yes i'm going to have to build a block to guide the smaller case since the action was designed and has the cut out for the 308 case which the action for the 222 and 223 doesn't have. The bullet point drops down just enough to barley catch on the bottom chamber edge and has to be guided by you finger to go in. I build this as a single shot since it has the Shilen 2 oz trigger with no safety. The block will be very small and will hold the point of the bullet or front of the case up after it leaves the magazine until it enters the chamber. The block will between the front edge of the magazine box and the chamber.
It would be very easy to do if i had a mill.
You need a mill too huh Bea?
I've needed one for a long time but I keep buying LH rifles instead!

Very nice rig there, it's always good to see lefty rifles here.
I just don't build enough rifles for myself to justify purchasing a Mill , but do wish i had one. I guess i will try making the small block out of aluminum with my Dremel Tool . It will just be a small extension of the front of the magazine box just to support the case until it starts in the chamber
