Friends,

I have a question.

I have an Atkinson and Marquette barrel that Paul fitted to to a tang-safety Ruger M-77 many years ago. It's chambered for .284 Winchester and is rust blued. Lovely barrel.

I'm going to put the barrel on the market, but my question is this .... Would this barrel also fit the newer, and more common, M-77 Mark II actions?

Thank you in advance,

Steve

Ruger 77 is 1"x16 tpi you would have to measure the tenon diameter and length which i would guess would be the same

Bea175,

Thank you.

Steve

Friend, Steve,

I believe the threads are the same... I have a tang safety Ruger M-77 with a MK-II bbl on it in 7x64.

Also I think they are the same as the Post '64 M-70. I once saw one with a Ruger #1-A bbl on it in 7x57... Complete with 1/4 Rib. It was rather cute... smile

Pre and post '64 Model 70's are 1" x 16 tpi, as is the Sako L579/AII.
The new FN built Model 70 has a different thread.
