I have a recently acquired, never fired, Tristar Coachgun in 12 ga.
Using snap caps, I tried the triggers and discovered that the left barrel will not fire. When the safety is disengaged the right side operates properly, but the left side trigger just freely slips back without any resistance and does not trip the sear.

While I know my way around a few firearms, SxS shotguns are out of my league. As "Dirty Harry" said, "A man's got to know his limitations." I know mine.

Any suggestions, folks?

It may be that it requires recoil from the first barrel to set the sear for the second. Have you tried firing it?
I have not.
This is a classic, Greener style action.
I took a deep breath, broke out my tools, and cracked her open. Seems that the left barrel lever used to cock the hammer is not shaped correctly. The geometry is so far off I could not re-shape it and get it to work.

Crossfireoops is going to make a replacement for me.

I appreciate the suggestion and everyone who looked at the thread.
