I have a Howa rifle here that seems to have the trigger and safety locked so it will not move. The safety lever is in the half way position and I cant get it to move or move the trigger. Any ideas on how to sort this out??

This can sometimes happen if somebody has tried to take The creep out of the trigger
If that's possible it may be worth backing the adjustment screw out tiny bit

Thanks Bob but it wasn't adjustment, it was the the base of the sear had droped behind the top of the trigger so a fine pointed spike had it lifted above the trigger and that allowed the safety lever to be shifted and it all works again.

That's what it sounds like to me
