Have a mohawk which Im presuming has been in for trigger recall. Adjustment screws on the factory trigger have a coating of clear glue/laquerer over them. How can I remove this??

Can the factory trigger be tuned/worked for a crisp break?? At present it is heavy with some creep.....

never got my 660 very good. Was going to go with a Timney but the new one for these guns does not lock the trigger with the safety, something I almost require.

Can't comment on Mohawks, but the stock trigger on my Rem 600 is sweet. Probably around 2.5 lbs.

It should easily flake off with a safety pin or pick. All my 600, sevens, and 700 have. After adjusting put a little lacquer back over the screws.

Good graphic for trigger schematic here...

That is great info. I saved it for reference and know I'll use it.

Thanks!

If it was sent in for the recall, it should have a V stamped on the upper left (right?)side. I found the adjustment to be an iterative process - go through the steps, then repeat until the trigger is satisfactory, repeatable, and safe. Mine work very nicely and shoot great.

WOW!!! Why do those with no freaking clue what they are doing have to give directions?!?! That is the most ridiculous, clueless set of 700 trigger directions on the internet.

And reading his drivel is beyond comical when he starts talking about screwing up his own trigger and missing a Namibian gemsbuk as a result.

Here is a very good set of directions and it is easy to see how vastly different they are.

Note also that the drawing in the first link is nowhere like the 700 trigger!

The first set of directions are flat-out dangerous!
