Will a modern 700 SA stock fit a 1950 vintage 722? I want to use my 257 Bob, but the stock is too nice, and I'm too clumsy anymore.

Safari, it will fit but you'll have to notch out for the barrel boss on the 722's. Some of the late ones did not have the boss as I understand it. The slot for the safety lever will need to be opened up going forward toward the bolt notch. Just take a rat tail fie and file towards the bolt notch till the safety clears when pushing forward into the safe position. powdr
Thanks.

Now I need to find a real good cheap stock. wink

If I had one Buddy I'd send it to you for shipping. All I've got is a LA. I can't remember from your pictures whether your gun had the rear sight boss or not. Just advertise for a SA ADL and wrap your bottom metal up and stick it in a drawer. powdr
Give Boyds Gunstocks a call. their website indicates 722( and 721) stocks and Boyds is reasonable in terms of cost.
There's a 700 take-off plastic stock on Ebay right now for $35. You've got 2 hours before it's gone.
