Hi there. I am changing my 338WM to something new and would like to know whether the 7 WSM or SAUM feeds better than the other? If they would not feed from the factory magazine I might go with CDI bottom metal. Have any one tried doing this on a long action 8400 magnum (with factory mag)?

Thanks

Pieter

7 WSM is one of my favorites, so it pains me to say this, but it quickly is heading to the obsolete cartridge category.

Brass is rarely available anymore.

Norma and Nosler are making brass for the 7 RSAUM, so between those two, the RSAUM is the better choice.

7/300 WSM is doable, as is 7 Dakota, which has a bit more capacity than the 7 WSM, is another option with brass available from Midway.

Of course 7 Rem Mag is abundant.

I think I will pull the barrel and see how these feed from the current magazine and if they will feed at all.

It is pretty expansive to get a CDI bottom metal to South Africa but if that is my only option I guess that is it.
