I have a mid 70's colt combat commander that I was thinking of sending to the colt custom shop for an overhaul. But looks like colt shut down custom shop, wondering if anyone here knows reputable custom colt guy?

I do most of my own work on 1911s but have had him do some work and was impressed with the work, turn around and most importantly communication.

BTW, I think the Colt Custom Shop is now taking work again, but are unreasonably high.

The custom manufacturers will take "off brand" products too. Call Wilson Combat or Nighthawk and
talk with one of their techs. Work done at either of those will be excellent. And probably guaranteed too.
