I recently notice that on one of my Winchesters (pre 64 model 94 30-30) that when I dropped a cartridge in the chamber it went all the way in except for about the last 3/8ths. It was suggested that something was wrong with my chamber so I checked it out and found out that the follower or lifter or whatever you want to call it is coming up just a bit too high right next to the chamber which causes the cartridge to catch on it rather than drop straight down into the chamber.

Anybody know if there is an adjustment to make the follower a bit lower?

Does the bolt then close normally? If so, I wouldn't worry about it.

94's are not made to single load. If it feeds from the magazine properly, don't sweat it.

Thank you.

There's nothing wrong. The carrier is spring loaded and will move down as the bolt chambers the cartridge (or you push it in with your finger)
