I have a 700SA ADL with a small bolt face that I want to make into a light 223. I already have a 700Ti stock that has a Mtn rifle barrel contour and was thinking of going that route to keep it simple. My plan is to shoot the 50gr or 55gr TTSX for the occasional deer and 55gr Hornady Vmax for small PITA critters. Any suggestions on twist would be appreciated.

Any recommendations in the NW Atlanta area to do the work? I sure wish Mr Coleman was around. I would’ve drove down to see him.

If you're only going to shoot the 50 or 55 gr bullets you can use a 12 twist, but there's no downside of putting a 8 or 9, even a 7 twist barrel on.
And if you ever decide to sell it, you'll get a whole lot more interest with a fast twist than you will with a slow 12 twist barrel.

A 7 or 8 twist 223 in a ti stock with a mountain rifle contour would be a pretty nice build and very useful.
