Have thin wood that you can't pry up on because of the beveled ends that slide into brass on each end. Glue by Super glue. Any suggestions for for release agents other than acetone. Not finding much on the internet other than "Good Luck'.

BTW that crap dries faster than ten seconds, ask me how I know? crazy GW
I remember hearing Nail polish remover to clean up but I've never been that stuck to need to try it.
Nothing but mechanical breaking. It is good stuff but there are many things it will refuse to glue too. I have super glue solvent and IT DOES NOT WORK unless the glue has not gone off. Moisture sets it off or alkaline like baking soda. Once it smokes you are done.
Yep.

I had a door knob someone had put super glue in.
Took it to work, soaked it in a bucket with straight,
MEK,
Toluene,
Acetone,
Ethyl Acetate,
Mineral Spirits......

Out chemist saw it soaking beside my machine, and asked what it was for.
Then explained that cured Super Glue was pretty much impervious to anything.

P.S. I did manage to get the brass plating to come off much of the knobs.
Oh, well!

AKA acetone.
Almost anything will eventually succumb to heat if applied correctly. If not applied correctly, it will also come loose but you will probably have charcoal for a wood piece once you're done....

You will burn wood before you melt super glue...
I've used baby oil in the past. It will soak in and release the hold the glue has on whatever.
Acetone worked for me.
Revengeful wife glued her sleeping hubby's member to his leg with Super Glue.

Not sure how the ER handled that one.

Reportedly she had caught him messing around, took matters into her own hands.

Bottom line, if you gonna make your wife that mad, sleep with yo eyes open.. shocked.

Women can be vengeful, don't ya know... blush

And Super Glue IS hard to remove...

Had a coworker several years ago that had someone put super glue in his driver side door lock, if I remember correctly he had the lock replaced

I-5 bandit MO was hitting semi-rurral convenience stores staffed by lone females late at night. He forced them to strip and sit on a puddle of superglue on the counter. He also glued their palms to the glass.

They were so ashamed they could not make eye contact and could not identify him...

The oil in your skin will eventually release the bond. Ifin you're in a hurry work baby oil into the affected area.
if you are handling a lot of super glue ( specially fumes ) read the msds of cyanoacrylate.
Just a little cyanide for your coffee...
Try heating the brass till it smokes or try throwing the whole thing into a deep freezer.

🤣

Well at least he didn't have to worry about his hand slipping of the end...
Super glue was made as an instant sutcher for cuts and when it peels off the wound will be healed. Then they found a million uses for it and wood will break before the glue joint. Wonderful stuff but some plastics will not glue at all. We used it to build RC airplanes and it was instant unlike the glue that took 1/2 hour to set up. Look out if something was off. It will peel from your skin after a while but I have found nothing that will desolve it.

Yup...

I used it over forty years ago. Had a wing jig and a fuselage jig. Set everything in place, clamp stuff and then put a drop of super glue at all of the joints. Whole lot quicker than dickin with 5 minute epoxy.
As a kid,I saw a construction worker glue his hard hat to a beam, and hang from it..... wink grin
