I've got a chance to buy a heavy barrel Savage model 10 at a reasonable price.
The only minor issue is that it doesn't have an Accutrigger.
Are the standard and accutrigger interchangeable?
Or, should I buy a Timney for it?
My 110 was adjustable.
Kind of crude, the adjustment stress a wire spring routed over a cast lug.

Not enough adjustment to get to 3#, so I cut the lug down until I could get
trigger weight I wanted. Works fine, won't bump off, returns properly.

No idea how good or bad an idea it was,
it worked.
The Accutrigger is the answer to the question no one should be asking.

The model 10 trigger is easily adjusted and a solid trigger. I would throw away an Accutrigger for an old style 10 trigger every time, period.

And, bluntly, there are not a lot of Savage models I like, but the idea the Accutrigger is an upgrade is a joke.

Fact, the metalurgy in new Savage triggers goes to schit in salty environs...

And I gave up on Timney years ago. I have quite a few, but they did not do anything spectacular...
