Recently purchased a 308 in the model Rem 788. My question is are there any adjustments for the trigger pull? I have done some searching but have not found anything. Any gurus out there that can help me. Thanks

The 788 does not have an adjustable trigger. Some have added adjustment screws, never done one so no advice to give you on that. Timney might still make one that fits a 788?
I put a Timney on one of mine within the last year. Works well.

Thanks Guys, I was afraid that was the case with the factory trigger.

+1 on the Timney, wouldn't fool with the factory trigger.

On my 788 the factory trigger is fine but the pull is on the heavy side, have not put it on the scales but feels like about 4+ with no creep or overtravel. I will shoot it for a few rounds before I do anything.

Careful stoning with a hard Arkansas stone can smooth up the bearing surfaces- as long as the geometry of the interacting pieces isn't changed you will be safe. That would shave a pound or so off the pull weight. But, in the end sometimes it's just as good to simply get accustomed to what you have.
