What’s the gunsmiths opinions on the Tikka 3?
I had a Smith say they are the best kept secret!
Just wondering with them having plastic bolt shroud and aluminum recoil lug!

They no longer have plastic bolt shrouds or aluminum recoil lugs...at least my T3X Superlite doesn’t. Incredibly accurate rifles, them Tikka’s are.

Love mine.

Yes Sir I’ve done some research on them but the one I’ve purchased is a used T3. I hear it’s not a issue though. I’ll see when I get it.
Thanks for your reply.

Aftermarket parts are readily available for purchase for Tikka rifles...if the plastic and aluminum bother you. Most aftermarket parts are better than the over-priced factory parts too.

You might, just possibly, might, break the plastic bolt shroud.
Big deal. Unless you are in a very remote place for quit a long time,
It won't matter. Crud or water could get in there eventually and cause
trouble. Not for most people. Or but an aluminum replacement,
to be "safe".

The recoil lug?
If that's ever a real problem, I want your life.

Think about it.
A rifle traditionally has a steel lug.
Good and strong.

What does it interface with?
Wood
Fiberglass
Plastic or
Epoxy.

So, why would a 3/16 inch thick piece of
aluminum not be strong enough?

But, as posted. Tikka addressed this stuff with the T3x.

Newsflash.......the T3's, and the 695/595 rifles were just as accurate as any T3x made. I've been shooting them for over 20 years.
