My wife dad gave her a nice old Ithaca model 37. It has a cuts on the end of the barrel. Just how were they put on ? soldered?

I think some were threaded on and maybe some were soldered on. Either way there’s usually no going back to original.

The problem with a lot of the installations is take they were put on crooked.

I have one on an old Remington 58 that is soldered on and it appears and shoot like it was put on correctly.
Not to steal this thread but I am having a hard time finding the chokes for these. Mine is a 12 ga and I have a spreader and I think a modified or full
