I have a Ruger Wrangler .22 revolver that came with the matte silver Cerakote finish. It is a good shooter and the sights are spot on for windage. However, it shoots several inches low at 25 yards, and I wish to file the front sight down enough to bring the POI up to POA. I've never messed with Cerakote in any way before.

Are there any negative issues with doing this? I assume that this would not present any problems, but just wondered if the finish would begin to flake or peel in any way, or if it would scream in pain, accuse me of a crime or spontaneously burst into flames if I came at it with a file. Thanks.
I wouldn't worry about the Cerakote on the sides of the sight, but I would be concerned about the filed down areas rusting in Michigan. Maybe a dab of the wifes clear nail polish on the cut area or something.
