Is there a way to delete my account & then re-register with a the same user name? I think this is the only way I can "clear" an old private message that won't show but keeps showing a notification.

Joe, I had the same problem years ago. Could not use the same name but I added a 1 to the old name and could register that.

Yep. Was here when they put the first log on the fire but even Rick (who runs the site) could not get my problem fixed. So Travelingman became Travelingman1

Well, I guess that's what I'll have to do. Were you ever able to delete the old account?

New account & NO flashing message icon. Hated to do it but it looks like the only solution.
