I am looking to put a scope on a Henry Big Boy Steel Carbine (H012MR)
I want to mount the optic as low as possible, so the factory base looks higher than it should be.
What do you all suggest? I am fine with a basic Weaver base just cannot figure out the model I need to order
The Weaver 82 fits the Henry SS. Henry also has a base available.....I got theirs and did not have to remove the rear sight to mount it. Not sure if that's the case with the Weaver.
Edit: Oops....never mind....I see yours is the BB, not the single shot! I think the BB takes a 63B though.
I just ordered a Big Boy, I think I'm going to try an Evolution Gun Works for the same reason. It looks to be somewhat lower to the receiver.
I'm in the same boat wanting to put a 1-4 on my new model X 357.
Henry website was confusing as hell.
I did a EGW rail and Weaver lows for an old M8 2.5x on my BBS .45 Colt.
Like it so far.
I went with the Talley integral ring/ base from the Henry store. Works perfectly on my BB steel .45 Colt. Just clears rear iron sight and no issue with hammer. Scope is a Leupold FX 1 2-7x33. Perfect.
