If so how did it do accuracy wise and on game ?
How about the 240gr Remington CorLokt ?
Thanks , Kenneth

The Remington 240 opens up a bit more as it is the same bullet built for 44 mag.
If you can find the 260 grain loads, try those.

The rifle shoots Hornady leverution pretty good , the Hornady 265 fp super performance doesn't shoot so well .
Today I ordered a box of the corlokt 240 and the Underwood to give them a spin .
444 ammo at local shops are like hens teeth around here .
Thanks for the reply , Kenneth

Got the Underwood ammo , it shot about the same size group as the FTX , but about five inches high .
Will be interesting to see how it does on game , Kenneth

Tried the corelokts 240 , three three shot groups , ran from 2.25”-3” .
Also going to try holding the rifle with back of forward hand resting in the bag .
My Browning HiWall doesn’t shoot well on the bags and found the hold method makes a tremendous difference.

It ain't just your HiWall. I won't bench or zero a rifle any other way.

It's to bad you don't reload. Hornady 265 grain interlock bullets over H4198 powder shot fantastic in the 444 I had. I personally think that is the best bullet for the 444. 240 grain Corelock's hold together much better in a 44 Mag than the 444.

Agreed!!!

But I'll add the 265 grain Hornady Interlock per Ghostman, In fact that ended up being the only bullet I shot in my 444. I sold that Rifle in1991 to a guy who wanted something bigger than his 30-30.

I sold my 444 partly because 320 grain cast bullets (and any other cast bullets from the molds I had then) didn't work through the action.

Another good bullet for the tripple 4 is the Speer 270 gr Deep Curl

Hornady isn't offering the .44 265 FP as a loading component right now. Only as loaded ammunition. Not sure if that's a permanent move or temporary due to current high demand.
