Just purchased a new Cimarron 73 short rifle in 44 spl. Would like to use IMR 4227 as I have two pounds on hand and also have 300 Missouri
200 grain FN coated bullets. Would like to shoot bullets at around 1300 fps to copy the original 44-40 loads. Anyone have any data that would state how much IMR4227 should be used to put me in the ball park of 1300 fps. Thanks

IMR-4227 is a great powder but you can not get 1,300fps out of a 73' with 73' "Group I" max loads.
