I don't post a bunch outside the classifieds.... but I wanted to share my search is finally over on one!

I have wanted a 1894S is a 41 Mag forever. Here was my deal though, I wanted this gun to shoot and enjoy.
I have had offers to purchase either, new never fired in the box, other models such as the FG, or the all too popular
TOO HIGH PRICED ones

Well today I got to hold the only one I have ever seen in person.
I found its way home with me. I feel like I paid a little too much, but it was a face to face, no shipping tax transfer fee etc , and so now I own one!

Being I love the 1894 models, the seller also had a minty 1894CB in 357 mag...it just so happened to follow me home too!

Just got back from shooting them both and using them for what I wanted TO ENJOY!!

Couldnt be happier finally getting the 41, and this deer season will be like starting over, first legal deer GETS IT!

Will try and get some pics up soon

That’s awesome, always wanted one in 41 but like you I’ve been hesitant because of price and condition. I use my rifles, maintain them for sure but I don’t like beauty queens. My favorite to date has been an 1894c in .357 that had some rust pitting from being in a zipper bag when I got it. The internals were perfect though and so the story goes. Congratulations.
Thank you Wp75169 I found out on my way home, that I am not too old to get giddy hahaha

Glad you found one! The .41 in the 1894 is my favorite - like all Marlins that I’ve had it’s more accurate than I can hold. Have taken a few deer with my .41s and they work as you would expect. Enjoy your new finds!!

Wow that's like hitting the lottery. Looking forward to photos!
You will enjoy them both for a long time.

I know that i have for about 30+years.

Backstraps01, I know the prices on the Marlin 1894S .41 Mag. are all over the place. A Marlin rep at the Marlin Booth at the NRA Convention several years ago told me they only made a few more than 1,200 of them.

If you don't mind, would you say what you had to pay for your .41 Mag.?

Thanks.

L.W.
I purchased two rifles from him. With that being said bundling it with the 1894 357 CL I ended up paying 1450 for the .41-S
Have 2 xtra RCBS 41 Mag dies FS send a PM if interested.
Thank you!
I’m all good on components etc
Ive been loading the 41 for many years

Has been one of my favorite cals

My buddy also wanted a marlin 41 ,but bought a Henry, even killed a nice black bear with it, I was in the blind with him.

I was so tempted many times when Henry released them a few years ago.... but it was more of a Marlin collection piece for me. It took me so long because I basically wanted the nicest shooter I could find. oh...and the dang price wont stop going crazy for them

Like usual I'm slow coming to a post that's something I'm interested in.
I think you will enjoy your 41mag Marlin and find it worth every penny you spent on it. Only a few years before the 1894FG came out I bought a Ruger Blackhawk 41 mag and found I truly liked the caliber and started looking for an 1894S. When the FG was announced I was a little surprised that Marlin was going to make another run of 41's but was really surprised that they would have the pistol gripped stock. I thought it would be alright until I actually saw the pics of the first ones and was immediately disappointed and turned off by them. Several months later I decided that I should get it and learn to live with it. I got it... and I HATED it!!! I had always preferred the looks of straight stocked lever actions but had learned to like the 336 in both configurations. I just couldn't warm up to the 1894 with the pistol gripped stock. (To shorten things up) I whined about it so often on MarlinOwners.com that a guy traded me the bottom metal, lever and butt stock from his 1894 Cowboy for mine. To top it all off I had to remove the checkering from the forearm on mine to make it match the stock I got from him. So I have an FG marked barrel that has a straight stock and is without checkering. Imagine some guy after I'm gone trying to find that cataloged somewhere!
