I saw on Facebook where someone is wanting to sell a Winchester 71, made in 1937 with a 4 digit serial number, 348 Win, with 3 boxes of ammo, for $2300. I have no idea if the price is out of line or not, but if anyone is interested, I'll give them the contact info.
Depending on which version and condition, that could be a good price. I just bought a 1936 a few months back or I might would be interested.
Condition inside and out...............messed with in any way (extra holes, re-finish, blueing, shortening, re-chambering all BAD !!!!!) classic guns to be of full value must be original not turned into a Turmbull, faked out
to look like something it never was..............if you want a shooter buy a standard rifle with used condition and enjoy it, if a several thousand dollar rifle to fondle and never get dirty or hunted then go for it.....better to have a over priced investment that will hold value then several thousand dollars that are sinking in value faster then the Titanic...........remember a rifle will feed you and protect you if you become fluent in using it...........
I recently bought a 1941 Deluxe with bolt peep, cases and bullets for $2200.
Factory ammo quickly adds value to a standard rifle.
