Subtracting the 1st digits of the SN from 100 works on MOST of them made from 1972 up until Remington started making them. There are a few exceptions with some special runs made during that time.

Yep, the whole Marlin serial number thing is about no better than a crap shoot. Pretty darn confusing in a lot of ways.

It would have been made in 1992 and would be a JM rifle. Rick
