.35 Rem, I have enough brass to last the rest of my life, so I won't have any problem keeping them fed.

The SC's and A's (rifle version) are my favorite models.

Unfortunately, neither of mine are in as beautiful condition as yours.

Most excellent! The first word out of my mouth was wow, when I saw the picture.

Very nice SC, Sir! Foolishly, I sold the 2 I had and was pining for another when, a 1972 1895 showed up and quenched my thirst, for a while at least.

Maurice Decker agreed with your assement of the Sporting Carbine.

Decker mentioned the rifle in the October 1924 issue of the Fur News and gave a description of the rifle and his reasons for thinking it was the best rifle for the woods cruiser and backpacking hunter in the December issue.
There were changes through the years but the basic rifle is still there.

Beutiful old gun, does my old heart good, to know these fine old rifles are out there!

That’s a nice configuration for a hunting rifle. Not a big fan of the typical full-length magazine with barrel band.

Two really fine rifles here!

I love Marlin rifles and have purchased several but that is the prettiest one I have seen in a while.

The 336 SC has got to be one of Marlins best looking/handling rifles. But to me, this is a Marlin 336 SC in 35 Remington as it should be.

This is a salvage job on a rifle someone tried to convert to a straight grip. They tried to use a lever from a 444 Marlin and pretty much ran into realization that it wont work. The best thing they did was quit before it was screwed up beyond repair. With a correct, modified lever and some stock work, to catch up to the now straight lever, it turned into a great rifle that shoots better than a lot of bolt action rifles.

I would never have done this to an original, but finding this botched up 336 SC conversion opened the door to building the rifle I wanted with out losing any collectors value.

Has anyone ever done that conversation? It’s on my list of things to do.

I actually have a 1951 SC in comparable shape. Mine is in .35 Remington as well, but it doesn’t have the rear peep sight. My dummy of a brother sold it to me to help fund a long range build that he was working on. Pretty stupid…….. I told him I would sell it back to him once he came to his senses. What makes the situation even worse is the Marlin belonged to his father-in-law. Millennials are a different bunch!!! Oh yeah, I have a 1951 RC in .30-30 as well.
