I picked up a post 64 pre AE 94 that had a side mount scope on it. Apparently the previous owner removed the scope mount, but lost the original screws. I'm having a hard time finding replacements.
Suggestions? What part number, screw size, etc?
thanks
.
Who knows, the gunsmith who did the work could have used almost anything. I would start with 6 x 32 or 6 x 40. Other than that it's just trial and error until you find something.
I would take it to a gunsmith and have him do the work.
.
It would also depend upon if the aforesaid side mount used the existing holes in the receiver or had new ones D/T'd for it @ installation.
Most side mounts utilizing existing holes use the two peep sight prep holes (6-48, IIRC) and the large-headed screw that blocks the bolt pin from being driven or coming, out ( IIRC it's the "bolt pin stop screw)
.
Yep, those are the ones, no new holes.
Use a gunsmith to put in three screws???
I finally found them. It was just a matter of using the correct terminology when searching. I sure miss paper catalogs.
