Just got my copy of American Rifleman tonight. There's a good article on the Marlin 1895M 450 Marlin in it. Took it hunting to Alaska. Their's is set up just like mine, except I used the Burris 2.75x Scout Scope instead of the 2.5x Leupold. I also used the ghost ring setup from Wild West Guns w/fibre optic front post, instead of the Ashley set. Though I did use the Ashley Scout Scope Mount mentioned. I would like to e-mail the author, to see if he wore ear plugs (grin) he had to have some reason to take four shots to drop a moose at 30 feet.<P>Phil

I read the article also and I too was bewildered about the four shots at close range! I believe I would of left that part out!

Maybe the part the guy left out was that he closed his eyes before pulling the trigger, on account he flinchs real bad because of the ports! ~~~Suluuq
