How hard is it to find ammo/brass/loads etc.?

Hey Kennesaw, I shoot a 50-110 WCF, it will run 525 gr bullets out of the 28" barrel at 2150 fps, way more power than a 444 Marlin.

My standard hunting load is the same bullet @1850, and thats plenty.

If ya pony up for the original rifle in the sales add, ya might wanna check twist rate, some were twisted for 300 gr bullets, an express version if you will.

Kennesaw, i use RL-15 with the 525 gr Cast Performance bullets, and hell yes, it knocks the cornbread stuffing out of anything ya wanna hit with it.

I bought my brass from Buffalo Arms out West, they, Midway, and CH-4D have dies and a shell holder in stock.

I have shot WT deer and pest hogs, and even some very heavy cattle [dead or dying] at close to 1600 lbs and I could not find an angle in that bull to catch a bullet.

Extreme penetrators with lots of meat and bone displacement.

Starline has the brass

i use starline brass and a variety of bullet moulds. IMR 3031, H4198, and RL-7 work well.

What are the capabilities of this round using a modern production Browning 71 that has been rechambered?

I haven't been to Africa yet, but have done extensive bullet testing on sick, dead, or dying cattle from around 150 lbs to up and over 2200 lbs.

With the 50 cal 525 gr Cast Performance bullet at 2150 fps, I wouldn't hesitate to take on ANY game animal in the world, and that includes drilling a Cape Buffalo through the shoulders or braining an Elephant.

Gunner, Thanks for the info. Seeing the numbers is quite an eye opener. Do you think this round and gun can push a 500 gr bullet at 2300fps or is 525 gr at 2150 pushing the max?

FO4, my rifle has a 28" barrel, and is built on a newer Browning 1886 action, I fire the 525's to an easy 1850 fps with RL-15 powder.

A Bud of mine with nearly the same rifle set-up runs the 525's to 2200 fps , I have loaded my rifle to 2150, recoil is noticeable with the steel crescent butt, But not that bad.

I would stick with the 525 or 600 grain Beartooth bullet for maximum sectional density and penetration.
