Found this wood in the rafters of a barn that was about to be torn down. Apparently off of an old leever gun. Wondering if anyone can tell me what it came off of.

I'd say you're right. It shows a very strong resemblence to the stock on the top rifle. Thank you sir.

i believe that pre-war 1894 and 1892 stocks were inl-etted the same

I thought it could be an early marlin 94 , with that octagon barrel, but the my Marlin doesn't have as big a cutout on top,in front of the tang. 94 Win. then. It would have to be pre 1930 as mine doesn't have as tight a curve in the butt plate,nor does it go over the top of the stock.

Would ya want to sell the set? I've got a 1894 that my dad found against a tree as a kid, but is miss all the furniture.
