Need some help on the value of a Marlin 1894 .357. It is JM stamped pre safety in pretty good condition. Any help on estimated value would be appreciated. Thanks
Jim

Condition is important, obviously. But, around here a 357 Marlin seems to be $750-$850 (asked) in VG-Exc condition. But, they seem to be advertised a long time and maybe aren't moving at that price. The last one I saw sell was about $650.

I saw a dandy at a gun show last weekend for $700.00, but it was still there when I left a few hours later!

Just be sure to check the year the 1894C was manufactured. The Marlin 1984's made prior to 1978 use a different ejector which can be very hard to find.

Condition ? very desirable carbine.....some pre safety 357's will go for $900......yes.....

the ejectors are different in the ole ones....pic shows a current one (L) while the right one

is from a '73 1894 44 Octagon....note no pin that drops in the hole on L side of receiver

$32 from Numrich......just landed a '79 1894 357..the ejectorr is wierd too...but current ejector works

If you wanna well built Marlin 357...I'd go fur it !

I was at a gun show last month and saw a nice 1894 357 Mag for $750 and it didn't sell. I actually think that $650 is closer, Although you do find the occasional individual that has been looking for a long time for just the right one. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut from time to time.

I know I sure as heck wouldn't sell my pre-safety .357 for $750.00.

It's the handiest little bugger and one of the few in the safe that I wouldn't consider selling.

I found mine in a gunshop in Salt Lake City for les than 500... It was hardly shot...I found out why.....it wouldn't feed for crap...after going through the action doing all the tricke it feeds like butter...I think the real value would be 650 or so.....
