300 Savage lever action. Has 24B in little circle on front of lever action, Has Checkered on forearm and Butt stock, Has the Sling rings, Brass Counter. Also on side of Barrel behind the Savage 300 it has another circle with a JP. Also has Weaver Mounts with a Tasco Scope.
I inherited this Rifle 5yrs ago and figured I would see if its worth anything. I don't hunt or Shoot. Maybe I will when I get older who knows. If anybody can inform me on Value or if its Collectors item it would be much appreciated. New to this not sure how to add Pic. Thank you

Post this question on the Savage collectors page and you'll be more likely to get an answer. I will note that it's not particularly collectible in any case (.300s are very common) and value will be further decreased if the rifle was not factory drilled and tapped. You can determine that by seeing if the front receiver ring has the Savage marking on the top (with the holes drilled through it - thus not factory done) or on the side which means the holes are drilled without disturbing the markings. Condition also matters. In good condition (relatively little wear to bluing or wood, most of the case color on the lever), you're likely looking at $450 on the low end to $600 on the high end unless it's a rare configuration.

Caveat emptor: I am not an expert. the 24B you describe is the "Boss Code" (stamped on the lever"boss") The numbers are that of the inspector. The letter "B" indicates that it was manufactured in 1950. As such, I do not think your rifle was originally drilled and tapped for a scope. That said, your rifle is a "shooter" not a "collector". As with most things, value is based on condition. Without good, detailed photos, a reasonable estimate is not possible.
